The Roman Catholic Diocese of Las Cruces offers comprehensive benefits to clergy as well as lay employees who are regularly scheduled to work 30 hours or more a week. The benefits program consists of the following optional coverages: medical/RX, dental, and vision. Benefits eligible employees automatically receive Basic Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, and Long Term Disability as part of a core benefits package paid for by the employee’s location.
All lines of coverage are effective and billed on a monthly basis to each location. All enrollment changes, including but not limited to, new hire enrollment, transfers, and terminations are handled by the Diocesan Office of Insurance. The monthly cost of medical/RX and dental coverages are split between the location and employee. Vision is solely paid for by the employee, while the core benefits package is solely paid for by the location.
Coverage is effective on the first of the month following the date of hire unless the date of hire is the first. If the date of hire is the first, coverage is effective as of the date of hire.
